ESIA leadership skills are in demand. The ESIA process is enhanced through greater leadership, and those leadership skills are a vital part of the ESIA professionals’ development, influence, and ability to delivering sustainability outcomes.
Leading (and managing) the EIA process and team is a complex activity. EIA team leads need to work productively with technical specialists as well as engage effectively with project managers, clients and regulators, and stakeholders. The increasing risk that environmental, social and compliance issues present to project costs and delivery schedules provides a particular opportunity for EIA leaders to play a critical influencing and communication role in large scale project planning and design decisions.
To do this effectively, EIA team leaders need skills and knowledge beyond those taught in professional and academic institutes. This course fills the gap, examining the leadership role in ESIA, how leadership styles can assist in team performance and communication, and the role EIA leaders can play in influencing the wider project team.
This 10.5-hour training course over three half-day sessions will provide insights into where in EIA process leadership skills are required, and ‘safe’ opportunities to put your learning into practice. With a strong emphasis on personal reflection and self-development, the intention is to draw out the skills you already possess, and to help you develop the mindset of an IA leader.
